I just wanted to let you know that last week I gave a 10-minute presentation to about 300 medical and dental students and 40-odd staff and faculty members. The crowd was more than ten times bigger than any I’d faced before. It was the first speech I’d given since my last Toastmasters meeting back in July, but I thought it went really well (all things considered), and a whole lot of people have come up to me in the days since and told me how much they enjoyed it. So that’s pretty sweet!
Even though I was only able to come to meetings for three short months, and only got two prepared speeches under my belt, coming to NVTM definitely made a significant difference. And this might sound corny, but it is honestly not a stretch to say that the skills and comfort level I developed at your club, while not perfect by any means, are helping me to achieve my goals in life. Most importantly, I feel VERY lucky for having found the BEST club of all: NIGHT VISION! For some reason this club always attracts basically good people! Their disposition, interests & goals find a good environment in which they can flourish at their own pace.
I am most thankful to NVTM for the countless good experiences and opportunities that I received during all this time. I learned and developed many skills that are now part of me and that will be useful for the rest of my life. However I am not done yet.
