Hi All.

This week’s theme is the history of the toilet.  An everyday device we are very intimate with, yet what do we know about it?  Taken for granted, shunned from the conversations of the sophisticated, relegated to a small room at the back of the house…  Why so?  What is its story?

Before the spirits of your next night on the town urge you to pray to the gods while looking into its still waters, one may want to learn why such a device deserves our prayers.  The words of Sir Thomas Crapper best describe its use - “A place of reflection after a spot of splendid tea”.
