Theme for June 18 - Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Jun 14th, 2009 by peterv
Fellow Night Visioners, lend me your ears, and put on your thinking caps…
This week’s meeting is all about unanswerable questions, dilemmas, paradoxes, and conundrums. I’ll tell you a few, you tell me a few, and by the end of the meeting we just may well have answered all the questions that the world has unto this day been unable to answer. (And we’ll then all become rich from speaking tours and royalties!
We have two speech roles signed up (and still room for a third! hint, hint
and I’ve disabled the toastmaster role, in keeping with our recent move to merge the Chair and Toastmaster into a single role. (We’re calling it Toastmaster, except I haven’t yet been able to figure out how to change that on the online signup page.)
For your intro, you can either let me know what you think of the whole chicken and egg problem **OR** tell me a different dilemma that tickles your fancy.
Cheers,
Peter
P.S. If you’re not a chicken or egg person, how about one of the following “chicken or egg”-type problems:
- A new graduate can’t get a job because they have no experience; and can’t get experience because no one will give them a job.
- Fear of a recession can cause people to spend less, people spending less can lead to a recession.
- People don’t buy electric cars because there aren’t enough places to buy and charge them, car-producers don’t produce electric cars because not enough people are buying them.
