Tips for the Chair

This is an open thread of tips for the chair. Got a tip for the chair role? Post it here! Let’s see if we can get a Top Ten list (or beyond …)

Tip #1. Multiply it. Go ahead and send several e-mails. In sales, there is a saying about not making the sale until the 3rd phone call. Sometimes people don’t sign up until the 3rd e-mail.

    Here’s another one:

    Tip #2. Customize it. Sending customized e-mails to individuals can be a useful complement to sending e-mails to the entire group. People tend to respond more frequently when their name is on it.

    Tip #3. Simplify it. Include a link directly to where people can log in for roles ( such as http://nightvisiontm.org/asp/Members_entry.asp ) in each e-mail and include the question (if any) for intros in every e-mail where you ask for intros.
